Help me give my students mental health support. This is essential for fostering academic success, emotional resilience, and positive peer relationships, as well as helping students manage stress and develop coping skills.
It is essential to support teen mental health in the high school classroom. It helps foster academic success, emotional resilience and create a supportive learning environment. When students feel emotionally supported, they are able to focus better, manage pressure and stress, and stay engaged and on task. It can also promote healthier peer relationships and empower students to advocate for their well being. By addressing mental health early, I can help my students develop coping skills and prepare them for challenges they will face now and in their future. Supporting mental health, students are more likely to attend class and participate as they feel safer and more understood.
I chose Fidget Toys because they truly help with focus and anxiety.
Students who experience restlessness, anxiety, or difficulty focusing really benefit from the simple motion of a fidget toy during class. It allows them to channel excess energy and nervousness and allows them to stay calm and concentrate.
I chose Privacy Boards because they create a safe space for students who feel overwhelmed. They can use these during independent work time, tests, or any time they need that safe space. It boosts confidence for students with social anxiety. They can help them feel more confident completing assignments without the fear of being watched/criticized by others.
I chose a variety of Snacks because they can help regulate mood and energy levels. Hunger significantly affects concentration, mood, and behavior. Having snacks available can help energy levels and avoid irritability or distraction. It can help contribute to positive classroom culture and lower stress levels.
I chose Touch Lamps because it helps reduce stress and overstimulation. Softer lighting can create a more calming and relaxed atmosphere. Warm, soft lighting can positively influence mood and make a classroom feel more comfortable/inviting.
