Our middle and high school aged public school students may have special needs, but they are teenagers first -- with the same interests and needs as any other teenager.
Since we started our percussion band, the number of members has grown tremendously. Thanks to donations and previous grants we have obtained several drums of various shapes and sizes. The students and staff love to rehearse and perform; we have even taken our show on the road.
The problem: with constant use the drumheads have begun to crack and break. Duct tape can only offer a temporary fix, and many of our drumheads are in very sad shape.
We need to replace what is broken. Replacement drum heads cost money and as you know, public school budgets are stretched and very limited.
More and more students want to join. In order for them to do so, and in order for the current students to keep playing, we need your help. If we can purchase replacement drumheads our band will only get bigger and better.
Thank you.
