Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of our students come to class without the basic materials they need—such as a notebook to write in or a pencil to take notes. Without these essentials, it becomes harder for them to fully engage with lessons and practice what they have learned. Something as small as a pencil and a notebook can open the door to lasting academic success.

Last year, our juniors achieved a 17% increase in state standardized math test proficiency—proof that the right resources can enhance real academic growth.

This year, I plan to continue to implement an effective note-taking strategy, giving students a structured way to capture important concepts, break down lessons, and practice relevant questions. These notes will become a personal learning guide that they can revisit to enhance understanding and prepare for assessments. I am confident that by providing students with notebooks and pencils, combined with a structured note-taking strategy, we can go even further in helping them meet and exceed grade-level benchmarks.
