Oakbrook Middle is a community school with approximately 1,000 students enrolled in grades 6-8. The students at Oakbrook Middle are from a variety cultures and various incomes who come together to form our OMS family. Oakbrook Middle School is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by educating students to become proficient, responsible and caring citizens. Oakbrook Middle School strives to create a nurturing environment where staff, parents and community work together to provide challenges and opportunities for students to reach their maximum potential. As part of our mission for the 2021-2022 school year, we have providing students with opportunities to earn SOAR cards for showing how they are Safe, Organized, Accountable, and Respectful during the school day. Teachers are using SOAR cards to reward students who are following the rules or going above and beyond the school community expectations. Students are looking to "cash in" their cards to receive prizes for their hard work.
My Project
The mission is to educate students to become proficient, responsible, and caring citizens by creating a nurturing environment where staff, parents, and the community work together to provide challenges and opportunities for students to reach their maximum potential. For the 2021-2022 school year, implemented SOAR cards as part of our reward system. Students receive these rewards for being Safe, Organized, Accountable or Respectful during the day. When teachers observe students SOARing, they receive a card. These cards can be "cashed in" once a month at our SOAR store.
Purchasing these items will help our students be rewarded for their positive behavior.
The items for this project are requested items that students are interested in seeing in the store. By encouraging and rewarding the positive behavior of our students, our community will continue to improve in academic and behavioral achievements, SOARing above the rest.
