This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What do I love about our students? That they continue to dedicate themselves to their futures every day no matter the challenges they're facing at home, with Distance Learning, and with the world around them. Our community's socio-economics, ethnic, linguistic, and cultural diversity means that our students have so much to teach and learn from one another. Our students are creative and determined. They're not called the Tenacious Tenth Graders for nothing! As young adults, they want to be part of a community focused on changing our world for the better. Our students continue to show up every day and we need to continue to do better for them. It is my belief that when we are responsive to our students' needs, they not only do better in the classroom but in life itself. Our students are ready to take on the world, but need a few more resources in order to do.
My Project
As we prepare to return to campus after being away for almost 2 years, our goal is to re-build community and give our students something better to return to. The versatility of the Cricut Maker will let us create campus decorations and other campus spirit supplies.
Our student leaders will be at the forefront as our community returns this fall.
These tools will support them in helping them to create an endless variety of school spirit items to encourage all our students to do their very best this fall semester.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
