Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in the Intensive Learning Center are active and enjoy hands-on activities to supplement their learning. They attend school every day looking forward to a new challenge and new adventure.
In a way, my classroom is a second home for my students, and I want it to be as comfortable as possible.
Students stay in my class for reading, writing, and math instruction, but leave for science class. Therefore, an inviting and comfy classroom is important to me.
My Project
Offering seating choices allows students to make a decision that directly impacts their learning. During independent work time students will be able to choose from a variety of seating options to increase their focus and help with motivation. These Hokki stools will provide another option to make more effective learning choices. Students will be able to get sensory input and output by wiggling in these awesome chairs.
I have seen successful flexible seating classrooms and how they positively effect students.
I hope to do the same for my students. They can be used all over my classroom during reading and math instruction.
