Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every student will go through puberty, and it is emotionally draining and can be full of things that are kind of scary or even embarrassing. My project is to provide my female students with items they need to help with their self-confidence so that they can successfully work hard at school and get their education. Each item is something they have asked for in the Health Office due to some of their issues while going through puberty. If they aren't worried about if they smell or if they need pants or even if they don't have a bra or underwear, they will be able to go to class and focus on their education. Basic needs are important to the success of all my students, but this project is focused on teaching a class about the struggles while going through Puberty and letting my students know they can come to the Health Office if any of those issues come up and I will have what they need. Some of these items are expensive or maybe they forgot to bring them to school. They will not have to go home if we have them available to them at school. The goal is to educate every student about puberty, so they are not afraid of what is happening to their body and emotions. To normalize the issues, they are going through so that they are not embarrassed. To inform them of the needs they may have and help provide for those needs. Ultimately setting them up to succeed by providing a healthy mind and body so that they can fully concentrate of their school day and be successful in their education.
