This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our Garden Club wants to grow our vegetables and flowers in our outdoor garden space. This will give students that ability to receive fruit and flowers from their garden starts. It will help them fully realize the joy and reward of starting a garden and growing their own food. These are all skills that they can then take with them to their own families and yards in order to grow their own vegetables and flowers outside of school.
These Yansguard raised gardens are perfect for the barren, rocky area that we currently have available for the Garden Club.
The raised beds will give the plants the ability to grow to maturity and help students harvest their vegetables and flowers.
A future goal is to grow our garden space to a point where we can provide excess vegetables to those in need.
