Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are medically fragile, and most of them come from low-income households where books are not easy to purchase. My students and families are the most inspiring to work with. My students may not be able to walk, and some may have seizures daily, yet they are happy, and the parents are so appreciative of my services and for what they are able to do.
My students need engaging books to support their learning, and they love Mo Willems' Elephant and Piggie books!
His stories make them laugh and want to read more. They make reading easier, and as a result, they want to gain the skills they need to be able to read the stories independently.
