My Students

Greetings! Thank you so much for viewing my page! I'm a reading and writing classroom teacher at a Title I school in Houston, Texas. I strive every day to be the best teacher I can for my students and support them in every way possible. Your donation to my projects (and/or other teachers' projects) on the this site helps us to get the materials we need for our students.

My students come from all over the world and are truly unique.

Many of them come from difficult circumstances and face numerous challenges, but they all have amazing potential. I am inspired each day by them and do all that I can to help them grow as learners and reach their potential.

My Project

These high-interest reading folders focus on key comprehension skills that my students need to develop in order to become successful readers! Many of my students are struggling readers and are far behind grade level. In order to perform well on state testing they need to develop these skills.

Each folder focuses on a different skill-such as Main Idea and Details, Inferencing, and Sequencing.

The skill is taught using a high interest passage.

I will use these folders with small groups of students. They are able to be used again and again. I believe that these folders will help my students make gains in their reading skills.
