I am a first year teacher and very excited to get started! I teach four sixth grade English Language Arts classes. As a new teacher, I have limited resources and materials for my classroom. My goal is to provide a positive learning community that works for 21st century learners.
My students are curious, creative, and energetic!

My Project
English Language Arts is a fun and interesting subject to learn, but can be challenging for some students. The items listed will be used to provide my students with the resources and materials they need to be successful learners. In my classroom, I have designated areas for student work, collaboration, and independent reading. For me, organization is key. Items, including the 10-drawer mobile organizer, letter trays, and the wall calendar, allow for organizational processes to be put into place, therefore creating more time for learning.
I love reading and I hope my students will acquire that same love.
For this, I am designing a reading nook, where the bean bag and bookcase will be located. In addition, tracking students' progress is critical for growing and learning. The hanging file folders, manila folders, and individual white boards will help me to see what concepts students are struggling with and what concepts they have mastered.
