Kindergarten is full of learning, laughter, fun and investigation! My kindergarten class consists of 17 energetic students. Some of my students are ESL (English as a Second Language) learners, they come to me at the beginning of the year with little to no English. And for many of my students this is their very first school experience.
More than three-quarters of our students are from low-income households.
Making over 76% of our student population eligible for free or reduced lunch.
My Project
Students today relate more with technology, as well as gain a deeper understanding of skills through hands-on experience. Therefore, I am requesting these Kindle Fires to help my students with their literacy skills, reading development, and comprehension. I plan to use the Kindles during my small guided reading groups to help improve my students' literacy skills, fluency and reading comprehension.
With these Kindle Fires I can offer my students a more differentiated learning experience.
Most of my students are on various levels for reading. The Kindles would easily allow my students to practice literacy skills they need more help with, or even challenge them. This project will make a difference in my classroom because it will allow more integration of technology in the classroom as well as differentiated instruction with small groups.
