I am currently teaching 2nd grade in an average income area. My students have a love for school, but there are obstacles that hinder their learning.

Every day my students miss out on valuable learning time because of broken pencils. We have one manual pencil sharpener in the room that is very difficult for my young students to use. I have bought numerous automatic pencil sharpeners, but none of them have been able to with stand the high volume of pencils for very long. They end up making horrific sounds that disrupt everyone's learning.

A heavy duty pencil sharpener would allow me to make sure that there are enough sharpened pencils each day for the students. This would allow minimal disruptions and keep the flow of learning in my classroom. It is only the beginning of the school year, and sharpened pencils have already become a huge headache for me and my students.

Your help will ensure that my students will have sharpened pencils everyday, and will not disrupt the learning of my students.
