This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Ninety percent of our amazing students live below or near the poverty line. About 60% of our students are learning English in school. Sometimes our school struggles to get the resources we need to teach and care for our incredible students. This makes the job of a school even more important.
Many students we teach experience poverty, but that's just where they are starting.
Our students love to create art and read. They write computer code and even perform Shakespeare. They have big dreams, let's help them reach for those dreams!
My Project
The new school year is starting and kids are eager to get back to learning! We need paper for lessons, crayons, and markers to create some art, and pencils to practice our writing! The supplies you are sending up will be used in all kinds of lessons from reading, writing, and math. One favorite lesson is making About Me posters so that everyone in the class can get to know each other. Of course, we also need some boxes of Kleenex and cleaning wipes to keep the classroom safe and healthy.
My students love school, but we don't have some of the things we need to return to school; let's fix that!
Help give students the amazing school supplies and all the basics to kick off the school year right.
