Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I had an amazing 2022-2023 school year with my wonderful group of 3rd graders. This had been our first complete "in-person" school year since 2020. And thanks to the generous support from Donorschoose Community, my students had access to high quality school supplies and were able to create fantastic projects.
Please help restock my classroom supply closet to ensure my next year's students' successful launch into a new school year.
The most frequently used classroom supplies are being requested in this project. For example, our broken label machine needs to be replaced. Label machine is an indispensable organizational tool that is used throughout the school year. The Avery Labels are used to print multiple sets of student names. The preprinted labels are a lifesaver when it comes to identifying student work samples. The pocket dividers are needed to sort student name labels as well as other printed resources. Students used their "Low-Tech Whiteboard" made of heavy card stocks and Avery sheet protectors daily to practice math, language arts skills, and art. Lastly, during my summer break, I like to make a class set of birthday "goodie bags", which include the mini spiral notebooks being requested in this project. The mini notebook covers are decorated with birthday messages, and students always look forward to their birthday goodie bags.
Throughout the year, my students, their parents, and the school community were impressed by the level of support we received from the DonorsChoose organization. I hope my new students will also benefit from such support and have the opportunity to excel in their new academic year.
