Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a STEM-certified teacher as well as an ESL-endorsed educator who loves teaching. We are at a Title I school located in Chicago. We are a Lighthouse Leader in Me school, which helps teach our college-bound leaders to become leaders inside and outside of our school community! Due to our being a Title I school, which means that our population has low income, and we serve students from underserved communities. What really drew me to this amazing school is the opportunity for all college-bound leaders across the city to have the opportunity to join our team. We are a magnet school and the opportunities for these college-bound leaders are endless.

This is an extremely challenging time for all of us, and I am asking for Chromebooks for when we return to the classroom so I can teach effectively, while social distancing, and meeting the needs of each of my students through differentiation.

My Project

Soon we will be going back to in person learning and I couldn't be more excited! I am asking for for Chromebooks so each student can have their own device to learn in a safe way due to COVID-19.

I am in need of new Chromebooks so my students can each have their own device so they can learn in a safe and socially distant way.

It is still my goal to make as many individual centers as possible for the children, however, some learning activities will simply have to be done on their Chromebooks.
