Every day, I have the privilege of being able to see two dozen smiling students, eager and ready to learn. I teach in an urban school with students from a wide range of backgrounds. After almost a year of remote learning, my students have made the switch to hybrid learning. Providing appropriate tools to reach students where they are is more important than ever!
One of the biggest needs for my students right now is the chance to engage in and devour a wide range of amazing books.
We have worked hard in remote learning, and moving to a hybrid model emphasizes the need for students to have materials at their level. Many of my students are English language learners, and my class ranges widely in reading strengths and needs. However, they are all eager to learn and to enjoy a great book!
My Project
My third grade students gravitate toward some favorite series. They love to read Dog Man, Harry Potter, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Babysitters Club graphic novels, just to name a few.
When we moved to remote learning quickly last year, we sent many well-loved books home with students to read during the pandemic.
Due to many circumstances, many of these books didn't make it back to our classroom. My current students adore these favorite books, but we are missing nearly all of our copies of these series.
With your donation, we can refresh our library selection so all students can enjoy these popular favorites.
