My Students

I am currently an interventionist and STEAM Lab teacher at an amazing elementary school. The STEAM lab will serve students in Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade. They will have an opportunity to visit the lab for STEAM challenges multiple times a month.

I teach at a low socioeconomic school, where 88% of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

It is very important for my students to have hands-on materials to enrich their learning experience. Their attention spans are not meant to sit on a rug and listen to a lecture. The best way for students to learn is to have interaction with their subject and to get involved. The children get so excited and are ready to learn when they have opportunities for hands-on activities.

My Project

My students need a new i-pad for the STEAM Lab! I want to bring more technology into the lab for a variety of learning experiences. The new i-pad will allow my students to explore the world of coding, research new concepts, visit far-away places through virtual field trips, and so much more!

Can you imagine visiting the Great Barrier Reef or looking up at the Great Pyramids?!

We don't have to imagine the experiences if we have a new i-pad. We will be able to have a virtual field trip to places all over the world and even out of this world when we visit Mars.

My students will become future computer scientists when they learn another language- coding! They will use the i-pad to code robots to perform a variety of tasks and complete challenges.

My students will also be able to use the i-pads to research new concepts and review past concepts. There are so many possibilities. An i-pad will open doors for my students.
