Help me give my students engineering experiences with the Smart Labs Earthquake building kit, 3Doolder Printer Pen, Electronic Smart House, E Block Circuit builder kits, Kid First Amusement Park, and Magnetic Marble Run as they explore STEM.
Help me close the achievement gap for my low-income, high poverty students who will not have the chance to experience many 21st century skills, if not at school. My elementary students are growing up in a small town in rural Texas, where limited experiences are due to living in this area.
They need to know that no matter where they start, they can achieve goals that reach way beyond their imagination in STEAM fields such as engineering, computer programmers, or even inventors of new technologies to save the world.
We need your help to make this a reality since they will not get the experiences at home.
My students range from K - 6th grade from a diverse background. They love to explore real-world problems as they try to work in small groups to collaborate with peers.
My Project
My students love to explore and learn about the world around them. The engineering kits will help them learn the importance of math and science in the field of engineering. They will learn the importance of building homes and businesses that will withstand earthquakes and storms. They will be able to understand the physics behind constructing amusement park rides and learn about the importance of safety for the people using those rides. They will learn how to create 3D designs using the 3Doodler pen and how currents travel through circuits as they explore building with the circuit kits. These kits will give them a chance to examine real-world situations.
