This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am a school-based Occupational Therapist in Birmingham, AL working with students in K-8 across five schools. These requested supplies will help me in addressing the fine motor, visual motor, executive functioning, and handwriting skills for students receiving special education services. We receive some basic supplies from the school system, but in order to provide a better, more thorough and enjoyable experience for my students, I like to be able to add games and craft projects that will also help further their skills. My students have responded well to these interventions this year and I look forward to providing them additional variety and opportunities.
