HELP PROVIDE A POWERFUL YOGA AND NUTRITION FIELD TRIP FOR GREAT STUDENTS

I'm a teacher in an alternative high school located in downtown Brooklyn. Over the past three years I've created and developed a yoga program that continues to grow. I currently teach three yoga classes a day and a yoga class in our school on Saturdays as well. I don't know how to express how proud I am of the students in these classes. For young people who face the kinds of challenges my students do (on a daily basis) the exertion and attitude they have exhibited in our work together not only speaks to the benefits of yoga as a secular, nonsectarian form of exercise for students who typically HATE gym, it also says a great deal about the wonderful hearts and minds of these young people who sometimes are not perceived that way by the society they live in.
I'd like to reward them for their great work and also provide them with an opportunity to develop their skills by taking them on a yoga field trip that will include a master class with internationally reknowned yoga teacher, Cyndi Lee at her own studio in downtown Manhattan, OM YOGA; and after that I'd like to take them to a well-known vegetarian restaurant in Manhattan, Spring Street Natural, for a "nutritional" dining experience in order to introduce them to some alternative forms of dining (other than McDonalds and BBQs).
We took this same field trip last semester with a different group of students and it was a tremendous success. Cyndi Lee gave us the class for free and will probably do the same thing again. In this proposal I'm asking for the amount of $15.00 per student for the restaurant experience. Spring Street Natural has offered a discount package that will include tax and tip for this amount. This will definately be a NEW DINING EXPERIENCE FOR MY STUDENTS!!
Cyndi Lee and her teaching staff at Om are some of the top yoga teachers in the country. My students would not only have an opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned in our classes at Pacific - they would also have more information about where to go to pursue their fitness and healthy living needs outside of school.
