My Students

The young ladies in the Women of Tomorrow program have chosen to participate in a mentoring program to help them reach their full potential. We meet with their professional mentors for an hour a session. We all have made a commitment to these young ladies until they graduate high school.

My students in the group vary in religion, race, grade, state/country of birth, and family dynamic.

The Women of Tomorrow program is designed to meet the needs of at-risk teenage girls in the nation's public high schools and help them turn obstacles into opportunities by providing the exposure, motivation, confidence and opportunities required to create a better future for themselves, their families and society. In a school district where the graduate rate is often low, this program is helping my students prepare for college and career.

My Project

I am requesting the planners to assist the young ladies with planning the mentoring sessions, career opportunities, and of course use in the classroom each and everyday to be successful in high school. Schools do not issue students planners anymore. Students are often at a loss of how to schedule appointments and remember when they are supposed to meet with groups. This a vital skill when preparing for college and their future career.

Your support will help these young ladies, who may be seen as at-risk, gain the upper hand in their school work, career planning, and college goals.

They will be able to become responsible for organizing their own schedule as well as being held accountable for time management. These are skills they will have to use regardless of the career field they enter.
