Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are fun loving little ones, who are learning to explore and navigate their emotions and the world around them. We use play to promote learning and communication.
At times some students can become unregulated and emotional making it harder for them to learn and focus.
A rug in the classroom will help some students regulate sensory systems and reduce anxiety. I added a " I am feeling..." oval rug that shows all the emotions; this rug will be placed in the calming corner. I added some fidget toys to place in the calming corner. In our busy Pre-K classroom, staying hydrated is essential for keeping little minds focused and bodies energized. A rolling cooler ice chest will help keep students juices or water cool; this will be helpful for helping them stay hydrated and focused, and will be used for field trips.
I also added a bubble machine that will help make our class a fun environment. Please help me support my students as I teach them various ways of regulating themselves.
