My Students
Do you remember the first time you picked up a book to read?
I teach pre-kindergarten to eighteen wonderful children in New York.
Most of the children come from low income families. These children are so fun loving and ready to learn. They deserve to have the key essentials to get their education started in the right direction.
My Project
My children need picture books. In today's society it is hard to buy books for the children. Throughout the day the children get to read to one another in the classroom. The children get an opportunity to discuss what books they like and what books they wish they had. I have made a list of the most popular books that the children are asking for.
One day one of the children told me she liked the book, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Hardcover Book." She wanted to know why we didn't have it in the classroom. I told her its hard to get all the books we want in the classroom. I explained to her I would try my very best to get more picture books.
You will make it possible for the children to have a new variety of books to share and read with their classmates.
This will help enhance their vocabulary as well as reading and social skills. Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal.
