I teach kindergarten to 22 very energetic 5 and 6 year old children. We are in a very low income school. The entire school receives free breakfast and lunch daily. We need these stability balls to get our wiggles out, so we can focus on learning.
I teach 22 amazing children at a low-income school in Detroit.
They share more and more with me every day. School is a safe place for them to come to, where they know they will be fed and get a chance to play. My classroom is a home away from home, and I strive to make it as comfortable as possible, so maximum learning can happen.
My Project
Sitting is overrated, but a necessary part of the school day. Most of my children from large families, so they are always on the move. We need these stability balls to help get their wiggling on while maintaining focus. We have several stability balls already and the improvement in behavior has been excellent! However, we do not have a class set. Having a class set would make everything fair, and everyone would have a chance every day to stay focused.
We have already received 4 stability balls from Donors Choose, and what a difference they have made!
We do not have a class set, so have a day where the boys get a turn, and then a day where the girls get a turn. I can only imagine the possibilities if my whole class had stability balls! Oh the focus they would all have! It would be amazing! So please consider donating to this project. It will make a huge impact on my students.
