My Project

Being able to provide snacks for our students has been a necessity for our Wellness Center program. Oftentimes, we get students who come to school without eating breakfast, and being able to pick up a nutritionally balanced snack from our Center helps them focus in school and connect with impact public health-centered resources. Students enter our space and see the snacks as an invitation and for us, it's an opportunity to connect and get them the services they deserve. We also deal with high-needs students, so it may be difficult for our students to eat lunch in a classically set up lunchroom or find nutritional food at home. The students are in the middle of the school year, this pack will help us connect with new students (we get a lot of safety transfers mid-year from other larger schools) and nurture connections with students from last year!
