Help Our Students Survive Uncomfortable Nights in a Shelter

Help me give my students these survival tools to aid in surviving nights in a shelter.

My Students

Currently, I work with adventurous, thoughtful, intelligent, and eager third, fourth and fifth graders. Many of my students receive free or reduced-price lunches, which places them near or below the poverty level. I also have kids with special needs and with learning disabilities. With the goal of bringing struggles on level, we will attack various types of real-world academic applications and challenges.

Regardless of their struggles, each student comes to school excited to learn something new each day.

They love to read, and they love working together on group projects. Our students are dedicated to their studies and to being a positive addition to not only our school but our planet. They are our future activists and entrepreneurs.

This group of kids deserves every last resource and support available!

My Project

Currently, we have a homeless population at our school. Most of them live in shelters, vehicles, or worse. They shower at school, often need time to sleep due to exhaustion, and are covered with bed bug bites.

These students need a real opportunity in life, an education, and a future.

We are asking for some self-care items and some school supplies to help these students come to school without bug bites and scars, clean and prepared.

Being a child in today's world is challenging enough. These students shouldn't be worried about bites and scars that require them to wear sweaters during summer in Florida.
