Help Our Students Make Prom Memories That Sparkle and Pop!
My students need instant cameras and film, so the prom committee can create its own photo booth at prom and capture memories that will be with them for a lifetime.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Wilkins's classroom raised $364

My Students
Our students attend a rural public high school, which serves about 650 students. We are located in an area where the socioeconomic status of many residents is low. Many students have parents who are out of work. Our school relies heavily on state funding and this year, we are struggling once again due to the state not coming through with that funding. Programs and teachers are being cut and our students are feeling the brunt. Our students are creative and kind and they strive to reach their goals no matter what obstacles they face. They continue to achieve successfully despite more challenges and fewer resources. They forge ahead without complaints. Special events like prom and extracurricular activities create hope and joy, as well as an escape from the glaring reality of financial problems and shortages. I hope to purchase materials that will allow our prom committee to save money on a photo booth by creating our own so that students can create memories of special nights in their lives and keep them forever.
My Project
When budgets are low and money is short, our bright, innovative students know how to problem solve creatively and effectively. Our students are hoping for a photo booth at prom this year so they can capture joyful memories, but it's $850 to rent one and we can't possibly afford that, so we want to get creative and make our own!
This project focuses on social emotional growth, creativity, and problem solving skills to overcome financial obstacles kids and teachers constantly face in education, which the kids are doing by hatching the idea of creating a photo booth of their own.
If obtained, the cameras could be used in every aspect of our school, not just at prom. They can be used in the library, in the classrooms, for art projects, at extracurricular events, and pretty much any other area of our school. Please help our kids create memories that sparkle and pop for a lifetime.
