This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are great kids who are often growing up in less than ideal circumstances.
They are a fabulous group of individuals that need help to ensure a wonderful elementary experience.
Many of the students come from broken homes and they witness violence in their streets. My school has many students living in poverty, a high level of students receive special education services, and English is not the first language of a large group of students. Too many days the students come to school not dressed in school uniforms that are warm enough. They wear the same short sleeved shirt every day because they do not have long sleeved shirts, sweaters, or sweatshirts to wear during the cold months. Fortunately, most students persevere through their hardships and are able to have an awesome school experience.
My Project
Our school takes pride in its appearance and the quality of education given to each child. Many teachers have their students sit on the classroom rug during whole group instruction, centers, and when doing collaborative work. From preschool to fifth grade, our students love to sit on the colorful rugs for learning.
Unfortunately, our school does not have a carpet cleaner to keep the rugs clean and sanitary for the students.
The Hoover Carpet Cleaner will ensure that all classrooms have clean and sanitary rugs for students to sit on and continue their learning. The cleaner will be used for every classroom in the school which benefits every student in the school!
