Help Our Students Get A Good Start In Reading
My students need a set of Kindergarten Collection books to have at home so they can build that love for reading and to help them feel successful at school.
I work with 2nd, 3rd, 4th grade students that struggle in reading. Many of these students come from poverty and were not able to have books and materials that would give that that early intervention in reading. I want to help the kindergarteners and preschoolers get that great start.
Our school is a public school in Northwestern St.
Louis county that is an high poverty area. Our students are very energetic and eager. They love to come to school because they know that if they continue to learn they will be successful in whatever they want to do in their life.
My students need a set of Kindergarten Collection books to have at home so they can build that love for reading and to help them feel successful at school. By having a set of books, these students will have a chance to use them at home where they can begin to discover that love for reading. At our Parent Outreach sessions, I will give the students the books and guide the parents into how they can help them. The Parent Outreach sessions will be in February and April.
I want all children to feel success and not have to struggle in reading.
These students don't have a library of books at home and with this project they can began to have one. I want this for these students because they need a good start in school. This project will help them find it.
