Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students face a number of challenges each and every day in their community, but that doesn't stop them from wanting to come to school and be challenged even more. Our students are always looking to be engaged and to be as prepared as possible for their future. If our students are up to this challenge, I better be as well!
Our students are looking for a safe space where they can be themselves and let their true selves shine.
If they're that willing to be open and carefree, we need to find ways to challenge them at their individual levels and keep them interested in taking charge of their learning.
Our students look forward to school and see it as a place where they can not only grow in their education, but also as a contributing member of society. As their teachers, we think that it's pretty special that this huge responsibility (and opportunity) is put on our shoulders.
My Project
Our students have a brand new design lab and we need to make sure that when they walk in and come up with incredible ideas, we're able to help those creations come to life. Our students have been learning to code and I would love for their projects to be controlled in creative, fun and engaging ways. That's where the Makey Makeys come into play. I want to ensure that our students aren't limited in what they can do.
Our students are working on so many different projects in our design lab, I need to make sure that they are full stocked with whatever they may need!
Our students are also working on 3D printed creations. Whether it be jewelry or keychains, I need to be sure that the students have the finishing hardware needed to really enhance their final prints.
