This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The scholars in our classroom arrive at our door in the morning, eager to learn and begin their day. At the end of the school year I would love our scholars to be exposed to many different types of reading materials. A Time For Kids subscription will expose our scholars to current events.
Our scholars are part of a school community that promotes global thinking.
We love our scholars to think outside of the box and to be productive members of society. Discussion is a huge part of our day. We expect scholars to arrive at school ready to discuss world issues, current events and local events. Reading a magazine that focuses on current world-event issues will give the scholars the information that is needed to have rich, meaningful discussions.
My Project
Scholars will be able to connect to world events through the reading of this Time for Kids magazine subscription. Our scholars will also discuss the issues that they read in the magazine and discuss how these events relate to their lives. Scholars will also participate in identifying solutions to some of the problems that they are reading about.
A subscription to the magazine Time For Kids will help improve the rich discussion that is already present in our classroom.
Scholars will be able to discuss world events and current events. Scholars will be able to see how people in different sections of the country and the world live and also compare and contrast it to their own lives.
