This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine hearing a four-year-old say, "Can I take an apple home? We don't have a lot of food in my house."

My students are growing up in an unsafe, extremely economically disadvantaged neighborhood.

As Pre-Kindergartners, this is their first experience in school. My students are learning to love school through our exciting hands-on, experience-based classroom. Unfortunately, my school is lacking tremendously in resources and funding, and we were provided with hardly any materials.

My Project

My students need color markers and crayons in order to express themselves on paper. Every day, my students have the opportunity to write and to draw. Sadly, we have had to use the same box of markers for the past two years and most of them are dried out. My students love to express themselves on paper, and with these markers and crayons, they will be able to do so.

These markers and crayons will improve our classroom by allowing my students to create drawings of which they are proud.

My students deserve new markers so that they can write and draw!
