This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 7th grade mathematics in a Title I school in Queens, New York. My students come from many different cultural backgrounds. 80% of our population are ELL and some hardly even know English. They are full of life and love to learn. Engaging my students in learning and focusing on vocabulary is very important. Many of them are like sponges and striving to learn more and grow. They come to school eager for more knowledge and curiosity of the topics to become life long learners.
My Project
INK is always of need in my classroom for the classroom printer. Students print out projects, tasks, classwork and homework on the classroom printer daily. We are not given a printer or ink for our classroom. We have to purchase one on our own and keep the ink supplied with our own money. We also have a laminator in the classroom that uses laminating sheets. They also need to be supplied by me for the students to preserve their work and also for math workstations.
Every year around this time we run out of supplies.
