This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Soil, rocks, insects, and plants, Oh My! My students absolutely love everything about nature. At recess, they can be found observing butterflies or inspecting rocks and pinecones. Gardening is one of my students' favorite projects and helps enrich our classroom environment in many ways.
Through gardening, I can harness my student's intrinsic curiosity about nature to extend our learning about photosynthesis, pollination, types of soils, and so much more.
We also use the garden to conduct many different experiments throughout the year, and we need garden bed planter kits, indoor garden kits, and seeds to keep it going. One of the best aspects of the garden is that students get to experience growing different types of vegetables that they may have never tried before. Our garden supports endless learning opportunities.
