It is my privilege to work with a truly outstanding group of diverse students. On our campus we believe in being community-oriented and giving back to others.
We have a small beautiful campus garden that we would like to see incorporated into vast learning experiences with the addition of a greenhouse and additional garden beds.
Our small, rural school is an ideal environment to focus on individual needs of all learners, as well as challenge students to learn through engaging science and technology activities that fosters collaboration, inquisitive exploration and communication. With the addition of a greenhouse, students of all ages can help in seed collection, growing and cultivation of native plants and enjoy edible foods from our very own garden.
I am requesting a greenhouse and garden beds to help grow our school garden allowing students to take their classroom learning outdoors! The greenhouse will be used for seed germination, growing of natural foods, and native plants as an integral part of our science and health curriculum.
The greenhouse and planter boxes will provide students with opportunities for hands-on science learning.
Students from every grade level from Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade will have the opportunity to learn gardening skills to enhance student learning in science, math, communication and collaboration. The garden beds will be maintained and managed by individual classes developing a sense of community and ownership. This project connects our students to how and where their food comes from and ways to improve the native plant restoration in our area. Please help us make this a reality at our sweet little school.
