My students are an imaginative and inquisitive group, over 100 future community leaders coming from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. They embrace challenges and persist in the face of setbacks. They see effort as a path to mastery. They are risk takers in their learning and practice an innovator's mindset.
They are visionary, courageous, collaborative, determined and reflective in their approach to learning.
They participate in the gifted program offered in our district. Our program goals are to develop creative thinking skills, enrich students in math, science and the humanities in addition to promoting the development of a growth mindset.
These students envision a better world, freely share their creative thoughts, value the unique perspective of others, know that innovation requires effort, think about the world around them and the impact their ideas may have now and in the future.
My Project
Our computer lab is missing! Our lab was used by our students on a daily basis. This year the computer lab was retired. The desk tops were old and hard to keep running successfully. The working ones found wonderful new homes in classrooms. Where they are loved on a daily basis by children. The good news is we have the empty lab to turn into a wonderful yet unnamed space. My Ignite kiddos have been designing this new space and have created a wish list of materials.
Chromebooks are at the top of their list.
They will use these chrome books for research, writing, and creating wonders.
