My Students

I am a second year teacher of fourth grade students. This year we are coming off of a pandemic year of learning at home and in-person in a hybrid model. I am looking forward to having all of my students back in the classroom with me and working toward having as excellent a classroom as possible to welcome them.

My school is a Title I school where many students live in poverty, however, my students always come to school eager to learn and do the best they can.

The classroom is their home for the year we spend together, and I would love to make my classroom as inviting and comfortable an environment as possible so they can learn to their full potential.

My Project

These books will enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently. My students love to read graphic novels and books with characters that look like them.

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books at different levels, along with books that feature diverse characters.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. This project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word. The bins and cart will be used to help store books and classroom supplies, and the Kleenex will be used throughout our year to help stay safe and clean. The stickers will be a great reward for students working hard, and the fidget items will help my students who struggle with staying still focus so they can be engaged in learning.
