Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you imagine learning without pictures? We would love to have an opportunity to project every single image in the classroom onto a big screen for each student to view. Our school does not have access to the technology necessary to really impact students' learning and lives through visuals.
My students are 20 wonderful and eager learners in a devoted school, which unfortunately lacks funding to support advanced technology in the classroom.
Our school is located in a low income neighborhood. The majority of the students in my class are English Language Learners. Research has shown that English Language Learners thrive on visual representation of all educational materials, including math, science, and literacy.
My Project
My students need an Epson Document Camera with Extended Service Agreement to have opportunities to learn visually in the classroom. An Epson Document Camera would allow these bright learners to view every subject visually. For example, I can demonstrate an activity by modeling it under the document camera, which will project on the big screen for my students. In addition, I can perform a science experiment under the document camera, which will be projected onto the big screen with our Epson projector.
Children need multiple representations of material to learn successfully.
Each learner is different from each other and therefore, we need to provide multiple learning experiences, such as the projection of images taken in real-time through a document camera. A document camera will change the lives of students in this classroom.
More than half of students from low‑income households
