This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Help! I recently moved to Chicago and this is my first year at a Chicago Public School. I am currently teaching second grade and struggle with the limited amount of resources available for my classroom this year. I would like a classroom carpet that provides personal space for everyone and will replace the dinky carpet I bought on my own. Most of the time, the students are squished, and their personal "bubbles" are popping. My carpet is just too small! Some of the students are sitting on the cold, hard tile or trying to cram onto the carpet. I certainly can't blame them! I get bruises when I try to work and sit on the hard floors with the kids. I feel that this resource is necessary because the 30 squares allow each child to have their own comfortable space. Not only does it allow an atmosphere conducive to learning, but it also eliminates behavior problems. I always tell my students to stay within their force fields, but how can they when there is no room?! So please, please help our classroom rebuild our bubbles so that they never have to pop again!
