This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Percussion instruments are played in all of our ensembles. They help keep the beat, contribute to the color of the music that we play and are just fun to play. We are trying to expand our repertoire in all of our ensemble, but the percussion instruments in our class have needed an update for a long time. As we explore new pieces we have found that the more engaging and interesting pieces utilizes percussion instruments that we don't have.

Interesting and more demanding musical numbers hold students attention and keep them engaged.

But they usually are scored with a more varied percussion section. These instruments are needed to perform these pieces and expand the musical horizons of our students.
