My Students
These students are special because they work really hard. They come from low socioeconomic families that struggle to get by. They do not have, or are not able to afford things and experiences that some other children may be able to. Our school has an 86% free and reduced lunch population. We live in a rural area of a county in which tourism has an impact on families. Some parents may only have seasonal jobs, making things difficult for families.
My Project
In my classroom we are limited on the shelving and storage. Some schools have storage and even offices. Our classroom has limited storage spaces. I have even personally purchased a few bookshelves with my personal money to help my students be able to have easy access to what they need. When things are labeled and organized they are so much easier for students to find what they need. They will be able to access book baskets or even math manipulatives with ease. This bookshelf will help my students be able to spend more time learning than trying to hunt for things they might need. I know this would be a great asset to our classroom.
