My students need Chromebooks to access technology that's not available to them at home.
My fourth graders work very hard to achieve the standards. Despite the fact that our school is located in a low socio-economic area, my students come to school ready to learn, and we share a commitment to help them become 21st century citizens. Our parents are extremely supportive, but at times there can be an education or language barrier holding them back from helping their children succeed. Many experiences that children in wealthier communities take for granted aren't available to my students.
Having technology in the classroom will help bridge any gaps that my students face.
Because my students have limited access to technology at home, I need to provide them opportunities to use technology to meet the standards.
My students need Chromebooks so that we can work on research projects in class.
They will also be able to access programs, such as ST Math and Achieve 3000 which we need to use on a regular basis to help them reach the standards and practice for state testing.
The Chromebooks will also allow them to practice typing skills through word processing which is important for their future education. Thank you so much for your consideration for helping my students be successful.
