This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How can we pretend to educate the citizens of tomorrow without the proper equipment? All students should have regular access to technology. Unfortunately, as I move to a larger classroom this year, my thirty students will have to wait a long time before working on one of our three computers!

My public school tries to offer the best to our kids who come from economically disadvantaged families.

75% of our students are African American alongside with Latin and Asian children. This situation offers unlimited opportunities to learn tolerance and team work while discovering new perspectives. However, our school and our families can't afford the sources we need to support academic knowledge and significantly improve student achievement.

My Project

A new laptop will enable students to access my website where I post my video-lessons for review and the practice games I created. Students will take turns writing letters, researching for reports, and accessing spreadsheet programs to complete our special math and science projects. The speed of this new machine will allow more students to work at it. Children will finally be able to design a multimedia presentation: they will be able to practice creating a slide show, edit a short and simple video, and include an animation. This computer would definitely prepare them for the working world.

Donating this laptop computer to the class would help me so much in challenging the kids and giving them hope of a better future.

I guarantee, it will be used on a daily basis! By donating to this project, you will give my students an advantage. You will reestablish some equity in education; allowing students who do not have access to such technology at home a chance to have such at school.
