Hello,
I am requesting a donation of general Art Materials to use with my 220 students from Kindergarten through the Eighth Grade. I am a Visual Art Teacher at a public school with an Arts Integrated Curriculum. Our school is a typical urban public school, a lively, under resourced institution, where 45% of our students are eligible for the federal free lunch program.
The materials I've selected are all part of what a full, well rounded Art curriculum should be. Unfortunately, in California we are at the bottom of the national average per capita spending on students, therefore I'm reaching out to ask for funding to supplement the basic materials I'm currently unable to offer my students, in order to diversify their educational experiences.
The materials I'm seeking will afford my students the opportunity to make woodblock prints, use high quality paint brushes, make excellent drawings: this is a sampling of the materials that your donation could fund. With my present budget, these interesting materials are out of reach.
Your support will afford my students the opportunity to work with excellent materials that generously supports learning in the Arts. My students are really ready, willing and able to take off with more diverse and interesting media to explore the dimensions of what Art and creativity are all about.
