My Project
A calculator has become a basic need in todays math and science curriculmns. Some people think that a calculator is a crutch that holds back the “learning” of our youth. Using a calculator can save time, increase accuracy, improve efficiency, and simplify complex calculations. It is especially critical for financial planning and can enhance learning by allowing students to focus on the underlying concepts.
In the 7th and 8th grade math curriculum the concepts go so far beyond just combing numbers or using it for the basic four operations.
(Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.) A student still needs to know how to use a calculator when it comes to areas of math like finance, engineering(ratios), graphing etc.
These calculators will also be used in science class where calculations are a main concept and basic thought of the curriculums in 7th and 8th grade.
