Help My Students Truly Become Rock Stars

My Project

Over the last two years, I have been working to give my students opportunities to explore music from diverse musical styles more authentically. Through other outside funding sources, we have managed to obtain a couple of electric instruments, but obtaining an electric violin like the one in the project will let us perform orchestra pieces with an electric instrument to lead each section.

My middle school orchestra students are enthusiastic young musicians who thrive in getting to explore different styles of music.

They eagerly experiment with the different types of sounds they can get using electric instruments and amps, and this project will allow them to expand what they can do.

From our recent concert reflection document, students report loving to play a rock piece on their string instruments as they did not know it was possible, and they want to try playing other styles too. With this electric violin, we can give them the additional resource needed to help our orchestra perform these diverse styles more professionally and encourage students to expand their musical interests in whatever style of music captivates them.
