Your donations have helped my orchestra students continue to explore diverse styles of music more authentically. My students were excited to get to try the new electric violin that your donations provided, and they were able to combine it with an amp that allows for a wide variety of sound options and sound effects. They tried out the wide range of sound effects while playing some familiar and made up melodies while also experimenting with what they could do with them playing the new instrument with someone playing a previously purchased electric violin. They truly felt like rock stars!\r\n\r\nThe new electric violin adds to previously purchased electric instruments and amps/speakers that are allowing students the opportunity to individually explore different styles of music, and they will all be completing an upcoming project where they will need to create a video of themselves using one of the electric instruments (including the new electric violin you helped fund) while playing one of a few melodies from different styles. The instrument you helped fund will allow more students the opportunity to do this project in a shorter amount of time.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the new electric violin will expand what we can do in adding electric instruments to orchestra pieces we perform in a concert later this year. Instead of having violinists and violists share one instrument and lots of gaps in what we could have the one electric violin/viola play, we now have the new one you funded with the old one allowing each section to have one instrument to be the \"electric leader\" while others play along on their regular acoustic string instruments.","fullyFundedDate":1752586395624,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-students-truly-become-rock-stars/9308968/","projectTitle":"Help My Students Truly Become Rock Stars","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Slechta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9373694_orig.jpg?crop=378,378,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1700540119143","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9373694"},{"teacherId":9373694,"projectId":8590694,"letterContent":"We really appreciate your support of our orchestra classroom project helping us expand my students' opportunities to explore a wide range of diverse musical styles more authentically. They have been very excited and seeing their expressions while working collaboratively as they explore the instruments and sounds from the amp has been very rewarding for me as their teacher.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support and help with funding this project!","fullyFundedDate":1726594859562,"projectUrl":"project/pop-and-rock-exploring-musical-styles-a/8590694/","projectTitle":"Pop and Rock: Exploring Musical Styles Authentically in Orchestra","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Slechta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9373694_orig.jpg?crop=378,378,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1700540119143","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9373694"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_103585","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":778,"numTeachers":72,"percentFrplEligible":31,"percentAsian":10,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":103585,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Meadow Glen Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Meadow Glen Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/lexington-county-school-district-1/meadow-glen-middle-school/103585"}
