Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a high school teacher, I am committed to creating a learning environment where every student has the tools and resources they need to succeed — academically, emotionally, and socially. Many of my students, especially those with special needs or mental health challenges, benefit from technology that can make learning more engaging, personalized, and accessible. That’s why I am requesting an iPad for my classroom, to support students in both English and Financial Algebra.
In my classroom, I teach students who face a variety of challenges, including mental health concerns and special needs such as ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities.
These students often struggle with traditional methods of instruction and can feel overwhelmed by the complexity of both English and financial literacy content. An iPad would allow me to provide differentiated instruction and create a more inclusive, supportive learning environment for all students.
For students with special needs, the iPad can be an invaluable tool to offer personalized learning experiences. Apps designed for reading, writing, and math can provide interactive lessons that cater to different learning styles. Text-to-speech and speech-to-text features would allow students to access and produce content in ways that are more comfortable for them, reducing barriers to learning and fostering greater independence.
In addition, mental health plays a huge role in student success. The iPad can be used to incorporate mindfulness, stress-relief, and mental wellness apps into the classroom.
