My Project
I teach predominately 10th grade students with one 9th grade class. My students are at an amazing yet stressful time in their lives. They are getting their driver's licenses, starting their first jobs, joining dual enrollment and trade classes, and thinking about their future. Many of them are also involved in clubs, and sports, and have additional responsibilities at home, such as helping with younger siblings. They do all of this while also trying to maintain a social life and figure out who they are. With this in mind, they do not always remember or have time to charge the devices they need to use in all of their classes.
These charging stations and stations would greatly help my students with their technology.
Students are expected to have fully charged Chromebooks at the start of the day, as the majority of our classes utilize them every day. Having a charging station for the students to easily be able to charge their Chromebooks at the beginning of class, during lunch, or after school would help immensely with helping my students be prepared. In addition, having a safe space to charge their devices will help them minimize distractions.
